Not Happy with Bubble Magus Skimmer.

Should I be concerned that there's been a piece of rotting shrimp in the tank the last two days and the skimmer hasn't produced any skim?

Im no pro on the skimmer, but I would say give it a little bit. 2 days doesnt seem like enough time to get a cycle started enough for the skimmer to be pulling much of anything to be honest.

No, you shouldn't. A new Skimmer will take time to break in, the pump needs to build that slime inside. 2 days is not enough time for the shrimp to fully start to cycle your tank anyway. Besides the fact that you may not get any skimmate from a single piece of shrimp any way.

What you need, is patience. Relax, don't worry about it. Check it in a week.

Another question...

Right now I have it in 11" of water thinking that was fine. Do I need to build a stand to get it in 7" of water?
