Not sure what these are and also have 4 or 5 little critters crawling around when I cut on the light. They look like a small ant.

they are Pod's, a good thing. they are a good sign for a healty reef. almost all tanks have them.

The green and white thing is Neomeris annulata or also known as catepillar weed or fuzzy tip algae.

Oh and also it is a calcium based macro algae. I have heard of it depleting the calcium levels in a tank.

Some people like it. It's not considered a "pest" macroalgae. It's up to you if you want to keep it or not.

well, in that case, I will let them hang for a while and see what happens. While I'm at it I should go ahead and ask this question. What i 1st thought was a tiny coral growing on the back of a LR, I now think it may be aptasia. The rock is small enough for me to remove from the tank so my question is, if there is any doubt should I take the rock out and remove what ever it is? and if so can i then put the rock back?

Thanks! If it's a small rock, you can remove it. How small is it? If it's really tiny, you can leave it in some fresh water for a few days. Then you can put it back.

Sorry to keep adding questions but what does the fresh water do?

It will kill the saltwater critters on the rock -- good and bad. So it's not something you want to do unless it's a piece of rubble or a very small rock. If it's a larger rock, then using Aiptasia X would be your best bet.

I had that same macro algae on a rock and the hermit crabs ate it
and it never came back.

I use joe's juice for aptasia.
