At least were on the same page. Ban guns and what happens? Good, honest people give up there guns. True stat: over 2.5 million crimes are stopped annualy thanks to private gun owners. Another fact: ban Cubans (the cigars, not people) and good people dont smoke them, but dishonest people do. Same thing for weed. And hundreds of other things. Banning is the obvious "quick fix", but it doesnt work long teem and it violates rights. To me, my guns are not weapons, but toolss. In the same way a fishing pole catches a fish, a gun can get me supper, also. Yes, I shoot for sport and use handguns for protection, but its still a tool. Knives are one of the most common "weapons" after firearms, but are they going to take my lettuce knife? A knife is also

a tool for starting fires, eating, making shelter, self defense, etc...

Dishonest, sick and ill people will continue to act out and theres no way around that fact without resorting to complete and total communistic dictatorship. Or, we start by instilling good moral values into our children from day 2 (because on day 1 we embrace life). Theres no reason to steal, abuse, rape, murder, etc... other than pure selfishness. Maybe if we put God back into our country, we would see more peace. Ever seen a religious person full of selfishness, anger and hate? Not a real, saved person, you havent. Because knowing God and knowing happiness and peace are directly related.

Is it possible for people to just STFU for once and not turn everything into a political soap box? The shit is getting old.

I'm sorry, but using this tragedy as a vehicle to bring up gun rights is just asinine. I'm a gun owner myself and I love them, and I'm positively sick of people bringing them up in every conversation. You can't even go into a store and buy a box of .22 rounds because of all the foil hats and froth being thrown around by both sides in every forum.

You could have given every marathon runner a gun in this situation and it wouldn't have prevented this, so I fail to see how bringing up the debate is even relevant. If this was a foreign attack, no amount of christian upbringing would have either.

I wasn't using this as a way to bring up gun control, I was simply expressing how I am displeased with every violent act being blamed on the wrong thing

I am a gun owner as well so I don't see why we are in a dispute now and this is why I HATE what the government has done to society...no one can get along anymore and this is why I am angry

when I took the oath I swore to defend everyone even if I didn't agree with their beliefs so I will stop with this as my last post on this thread, just know it was not my intention to anger anyone

I wasn't angry at anyone in particular, just angry that this happened and I apologize for posting out of frustration. Things like this are just senseless and I hate feeling like there's nothing that can be done about it without becoming some Orwellian society.

Exactly, thats my point. The government resorts to guns being the problem and wants it to stop but it wont.

And dont ever let me catch you disrespecting a service member again.

Need I remind you that even if I were disrespecting a service member (which was/is not my intention), a person's freedom of speech is protected because of the exact reasons they go fight for.

Unfortunately you sometimes have to take the good with the bad in this country in regards to speech (unless it's on private property/forums, etc, where you're subject to other rules but that's a whole different subject) and taking a hostile attitude beyond the scope of words in either direction is unamerican, no matter how it's justified.

The people who ensure, with their lives, I might add, that yall keep that right should be the last to be disrespected, free speech or not.

Sounds like they got him cornered in some boat. Doubt he'll make it out alive; I wonder if he'll take the easy way out and off himself.

Too bad if he gets killed. Would have loved to see him tried and put in jail where he'll get his ass whooped.
