And it just keeps getting better.
BP concedes Gulf oil spill is bigger than estimate - Yahoo! News
You really want to think about getting worse. Hurricane season is here in what 10 days? Think about what a hurricane roaring right across that spill would do when it made landfall.
I didn't realize that we were that close to hurricane season.
yep can you imagine the damage if most of that slick was thrown up into the marshlands by one of em?
It would be the worst environmental nightmare the world has ever seen.
we have to get off of our oil addiction!!!
Sen is right, we cannot really condemn an oil company for supply us with what we demand...if there wasn't a demand for the product they wouldn't be in business. The real problem is our dependancy on fossil fuels, in a way we are responsible for creating this catastrophy because of our demand for oil at a low price.
Cannot have our cake and eat it too.
That was very well said rwynn. +100 if I'm allowed to do that.
So true, but we didn't get here overnight!
CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - TRENDING: Paul says Obama being too tough on BP - Blogs from CNN.com
Okay, who voted for this moron? He says criticizing BP is "unamerican" and that the government is being too tough on poor little BP, even though BP has admitted that they were negligent and intentionally bypassed safety procedures. I think losing our coastal treasures and wildlife refuges is pretty unamerican, but that's just me.
He's obviously a moron. Within 2 days of getting the nomination he has completely destroyed any chance of getting elected that he may have had. If you ask me, the President isn't being tough enough, I think we should have the Army Corp of Engineers and anybody else that may be able to help down there.
In the article it says that BP has offered to pay for the damage. How can you possibly even calculate the damage? Not only to the environment but the people who make their living because of the ocean. Fisherman, Tourism, etc. you could link this to everybody in the country in less steps than it takes to link Kevin Bacon to the movie Footloose. I'll bet that they don't pay $1 more than the $75 million that the current cap is at, the lobbyists will figure out some way to weasel them out of it.
How are they going to reimburse all of the people for the money they've lost, the businesses that go under, the houses that they lose, the bankruptcy attorneys, you can go on and on.
PRC is 100% right.
If it was me,BP would NOT be allowed to drill for anything until everybody thats lost everything was reimbursed, the marshes and wetlands were found to be crude free, and the gulf was fully recovered.
Then I'd pull the licenses so the STILL couldnt drill.
Here's the live video feed of the oil line
Live video link from the ROV monitoring the damaged riser
Dont look like they've slowed it down any.issed:
This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach, whats worse is one of the guys I work with owns a BP for his side business, makes me resent him a bit even though he isnt selling gas anymore there (the tanks had to be replaced this year and they couldn't afford it)
I read yesterday that a BP Executive stated that "No one was more devastated than they were over this accident."
Tell that to the crying turtles!!
Can't, they're dead.
They are crying in turtle heaven then!
Many many days has it been now?35 days or something.
I starting to believe it won't get plugged until they finish drilling the relief thing in August. Can you imagine how even worst it will be then.
