ok so i plopped my 15 pounds of LR in my tank

i placed the rock in last night
i checked all my lvls and they are

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
alkalinity normal (BTW whats the alkalinity for)
nitrates 0
pH 8.1(hard to tell its 8.0-8.2 so im guessing 8.1:D)

im using a liquid test kit

yeah how about that GIANT live rock LOL

should i let cycle on its own

is a starter damsel out of the question

Hey brother I think that its officially time to start a tank showcase thread posted for all to see. Looks like your getting off to a great start. keep it up
 
I don't know if that amount of live rock will be enough to start a cycle in a tank that size, especially if it came cured already. You can try putting some fish food in the tank and letting it rot. Or you can buy more live rock. But I would not cycle using a live fish.
 
Hey,I started this hobby the exact same way as you Jce.One lil rock at a time.
If it was me.I'd just keep adding a little bit of rock ever week or so untill you get it all in there.I wouldnt even worry about cycle doing it that way.Especially if your getting cure rock.
I'm with Ryan.Start you a build thread in the showcase forum.
 
Nice pebbles Jc...lol.Go ahead an add a little fish food as Biff suggested.It doesn't look like enough to get the cycle going.
