Overflow placement in pre-drilled tank?

Hey all-

Posted this over at saltwaterfish, but I wanted to get some advice from my focus group over here as well.

Does it matter if the overflows are at the very corners or if they are a bit in from the sides?

If so, why?
If not, why?

Does one require more or less equipment than the other??

Thanks!

No, it wont matter where you place it. Your water's surface level is always the same, when the tank fills with water, the water level rises equally on all corners of the tank (unless your tank is not on a prefect stand) so when water comes into the tank, first available opening, will drain the water back into the sump. I hope that made sense.

I'm not sure about the pre-drilled over flows, i never had one. I use an overflow box w/Utube which allows me to place it anywhere in the tank i want. But predrilled is better and more stable.
