Hey all. Miss everyone! Jeezus, not having a tank keeps me away from this site way too much. But I will keep coming back.

Here is a few photos of what is keeping me busy now. My brothers bird and soon to be my own African grey.

We built him a nice big cage out back too.

Very cute, joshy! Hope he bonds with you. I heard that parrots will commonly only bond with 1 or 2 people ever in their lifetime, making it difficult for someone to take over the care of them. Nice set up though!

He has bonded with me luckily, no where near as much as my brother, saying it is his bird. But when I get Momo (the african grey) he will be all mine hehe.

Oh the steering wheel... yea, the car was from the reject shop. They always get it wrong :p (pfft who drives on the left side anyway)

Hahaha my girlfriend told me that last night while he sat on her shoulder. Made the day all the more exciting. He just fits the bill perfectly.

Thanks Smiity :) took ages to get it together because of some of the cheap chinese parts. Drill and bolts helped though.

He's adorable! I have a double yellow she's a character lol bonded to my other half Ty. And a scarlet macaw bonded to me! Both rescues and I took a beating from his bill to gain his trust lol.

    Here's mango!

Mango is gorgeous! I would love a scarlet but they are so expensive here :(

Peanut is a character as well. The Amazons are so cheeky. My brother is also getting a blue and gold Macaw, so that beak will also be intimidating! Glad you wore the bites and trained him though :)

How long have you had your parrots?

One of the teachers in the kids' school has a big macaw. She brings it to class (she's got his cage in the classroom). I'm amazed it hasn't bit any kids LOL But I guess she's taught the kids to not stick their fingers in the cage. But she took him out for me, and apparently he liked me cuz he willingly hopped onto my arm and crawled up to preen me :D She was surprised because aside from her, he hates everyone else.

I've had mango for almost 2 yrs Cory about 4mo. We use them in ed. Programs. There 1500+ in NY depending on species but I'd rather rescue ad work them then add more to the pet trade here. There's plenty needing homes. Yea the beak is very intimidating lol! Mango was plucked BALD! When we picked him up. Bordum and depression took him over.every single feather except on his head. They look crazy with no tail lol

Good idea to do that. So many unloved and badly treated birds. I see it all the time in small restrictive cages with no attention.

I am afraid of that with my African grey because they are known to pluck feathers if you do anything wrong. He is going to be so spoilt lol.

Do you have any photos of him bald? Would love to see it :p

People don't realize how difficult parrots are. They buy them, don't do research, and end up with an unsocialized bird. Then they put them up for adoption to more people who don't research, and he cycle goes on.

I had researched them a while back. Checking breeds and care. Decided I didn't want to risk ending up with a bird that only bonded with me, but not anyone else in the family.

adorable bird josh. I just want to kiss that beak all day long...it doesnt get any cuter than that. Birds arent usually cute to me but when it comes to parrots, they rank up there with golden retriever puppies. :)
