What is the most efficient and quickest way to lower phosphates. They are at .25 in my 90 gallon, I just added a refugium and chaeto but would a gfo reactor work better? I am tired of the green hair algae.
Ammonia and nitrites at 0
nitrates about 10
I also tested my new mixed water and it has phosphates in that even. Using instant ocean salt and ro/di.

Chaeto will help. A reactor will also help, and they are relatively inexpensive. I would give that a shot. :)

Also, where are you getting your RO/DI? There should be a zero reading, so the filters may need to be replaced.

Or the test is bad. Phosphate tests tend to be unreliable more so than others.

I have a ro/di unit. Changed filters about a month ago, and the tds meter reads zero. So maybe the test kit is bad, it isnt expired though I just bought it. But with my algae problem I am sure the tank has phosphates.
