Great pictures. I am speaking from experience when I say this and I am not critizising you, but watch your nitrates with that many fish. Do you run a skimmer? What is your water change schedule? I was also curious if you plan on getting any shrimp. If so, be careful, your eight line may make a meal of them. Just some thoughts.

Thanks again. i am running a corallife 225 protein skimmer and do a 5 gal water change once a week and test water at least once a week. and yes i plan to get a shrimp but a freind of mine gave me a cleaner same day i got my eight line and he sure did made a meal out of it. any suggestions???

pk guys i just run a test on my water parameters today and here are the outcome:

Alkalinity = 11.2
Calcium = 480
Nitrate = 25
Nitrite = 0.3
Amoinia = 0
pH = 8.0
Salinity = 10.24

Any suggestions on this results?

parameters looking pretty good. since you have a little nitrite you should look to see if there is not something you can do to get the amonia before it turns to nitrite and ultimately to nitrate. also you should see about getting the nitrates lower. there are many ways of doing it. revisit your water changes, skimming, cleaning mechanical filters, siphoning out any detritus that accumulates in the bottom of filters etc. once a month at least blow around in the tank to get the detritus under and between rocks etc back into suspension, then when cleared do a water change. hope something here helps. your system is doing great at this point. what it is suppose to do so now is the time to try and get on top of nitrates and amonia. keep us posted.

I agree with our super moderator. Nitrates need to get down as close to zero as possible. Mine run around 5 ppm. What is you feeding schedule like? The Alk is a little high as well. Normally the number to strive for is about 9 meq/l. With the Alk being that high, your pH may get to be a little low as well. Just keep an eye on it.

Here is an updated pictures of My tank. I rearange the tank and upgraded my lighting from a pc to a halide. i used to run 2x65 10k and 2x65 03 actinic PC's and now i'm running 2x150 10 HQI halide and 2x96 03 actinics PC's both of them light have 4 moonglows.

my current water parameters are as follows

Nitrates = 0
Nitrites -= 0
Amonia = 0
Alkalinity = 8.4
Calcium = 480
sallinity = 1021
pH = 8.0

any suggestions and or recommendations is greatly welcome.

thank guys.....

Just my thought. i would recommend a salinity of 1.023 to 1.025. remember to adjust for temperature. good looking parameters. alkalinity always above 7 or 7.5 and salinity average 1.023 for 24 hrs. looking good. enjoyed the pics. keep us posted. oh! and if all the animals looking ok to you dont mess with anything. almost forgot. adjust only if you are not pleased with the animals appearances. happy fishin.
