Pistol Shrimp and hermit crabs

Question for someone else that has a pistol shrimp. I recent got one with two gobies for my tank. The other day I had to move the LR in the tank to catch a Blenny that I am giving away and in the process disturbed the shrimp and goby home. So the next day I see evidence that they are home hunting again, a bunch of sand displaced and moved around. I also find three dead hermits in this area. No other dead inverts, parameters are fine, fish are fine, just three dead hermits which puzzled me at first. Now I am thinking that maybe the pistol shrimp (who is kind of tiny but a bit bigger than my blue legged hermits) killed them during his travels looking for a new home if he felt they got to close.

Anyone experience this or have an opinion on whether I may be right or not?

Ah the fun of figuring out the habits of new live stock.

I'm betting your right.
I've seen it happen at the LFS a few times.Usually with new pistols or new hermits.
The shrimp will shot at anything it perceives as a threat.
