Pod "Fuge" Coral ?

I have been told by a couple of sources that if one is unable to include a fuge in their setup, a small pile of rubble is good for breeding copepods. But I have these two large decorative pieces of dead "pipe organ" coral in the tank, and am wondering if they would work even better as a haven for pod breeding ? It appears to me as though pods could get in & out of it, but fish could not..... The mandarin seems to be pecking at it in this shot.

Well in the end you can only assume, but in my opinion yep, that looks like it could hide some pods.

I have a ball of cheato floating in my tank which I added pods directly to. So far it hasnt grown at all, this is my second try at cheato so I am starting to think it hates me.

I would think that would work...but once they come out it looks like they are instant food...
