Pod Pile Update

So I leave on a big vacation for 2 weeks. The caretaker just drops food in the tank every other day and refills the ATO reservoir. I come back and the glass of my BC29 is covered with pods and not only that but they're bigger than I've ever seen them. My mandarin goby looks a bit bigger than when I left.

The pod pile (a pile of small white branch coral pieces) is really working well. Most people don't like to put live rubble in the main tank because it doesn't look nice but the branch coral is quickly turning pink and red and adds to the aesthetics. I'm going to make the pile even bigger.

sounds like a success for you and your mandarin seems to be benefiting for it. and if it gets ugly you could always cover the front facing part with a coral to make it more pleasing to the eye

I think light is important too for pods because you have to have plenty of phytoplankton and maybe a a bit of algae for them to eat.
