Protein Skimmer for 220 FOWLR

I'm driving myself crazy reading reviews for skimmers. I have used AquaC in the past with decent results. However, it is too small for my current tank 220 plus another 30 in the sump. I am looking for a skimmer that is quiet and offers an excellent performance / cost ratio. A PROVEN PERFORMER. Tank will be light - moderately stocked.

Skimmer performance is usually directly related to price. Buy cheap and you get a crappy skimmer. Spend a few bucks and you usually get a pretty good skimmer.

I'm really looking for that best bang for the buck. If that means $350 ....ok if it's $150 great if it's $500 and up ....not so great, but, I have to do what I have to do.

Are you going to keep it a FOWLR tank or are you going to add corals at some point?

Stricktly fish only with live rock ( approx 1.5 lbs per gallon )

Check out the Octopus brand skimmers. They are by far the best bang for your buck.
