Purple Shroom

So my purple mushroom was big and then i noticed it decreased a ton in size and I noticed I now have two. Tonight now that the light is off my first shroom has kind of folded up into a pot shape. The other one is so small and in a position that I can't even see it right now.

Is this normal?

Or just confusing as hell?

Shrooms reproduce by splitting like that. That's why you can start with one or two and eventually end up with a whole rock full of them.

Yeah but they will grow pretty quickly.

how quick do you think that they on average split?

Depends. I've had some for a year and a half that have never split. Then I've also had some that have split every month or so. No idea why the difference.

Alot of corals split like that..... My candycanes are the best to watch just because it takes a month or two for them to divide. I have never understood what props corals to split but if somebodt knows why I would love to hear it.

i wish mine would split. i just have one lonely purple mushroom. maybe i'll frag it in half.

I never had a schroom split before either fish.Either they broke off,moved and another grew in its place or they release some kind of eggs/spores.(I forgot what they were called-maybe gamets...spelling?)

I had a mushroom rock with about 5 shrooms on it for over a year. Then all of a sudden, they went on a splitting freenzy and now have at least 12 on the one rock and one on a rock underneath it. That all happened in about a month or two. Some times there would be new ones every other day.
