Purple Tang attacking Melanarus Wrasse

hi all,

I picked up a Melanarus Wrasse to help combat the red flatworm problem.... and my purple Tang is PO'd for sure.

He is tail whipping him and harassing him... he has only been in the tank for about 10 minutes as of now...

At what point do you make the decision that this isn't going to work?

(the lights are off, and the fish were fed just before the lights went off.)

What worries me..... the sixline I don't think has seen him yet....

Give them some time,and if all else fails try the mirror trick...i hear it works great....good luck

You can always put your purple tang in a time out for a bit, or rearrange the rocks.

Drop a small clean Mirror in the tank or up against the glass. He will fight himself until he is tired.There for leaving the other fish alone.

yep,i have heard it actually works best when the mirror is in the tank right next to the problem fishes sleeping area..good luck

All seems much better today... He has a small mark on his body but nothing bad and no one seems to be bugging him today...

Thats typical of a purple tang.
Their ALMOST as bad as damels.
