Got that nice brown slimy film covering everything in my 75. As most people know, I recently broke my 75 down to rebuild it(which happened about 2 weeks ago). Now after having all the rock back in there and having washed the sand( which was recycled along with half of the rock) this stuff seems to be persistent. The puzzling part is that the 30 I had set up for my temporary to hold my livestock was using the other half of this rock the same salt and the same water source without having this problem. What could the problem be?

Remind me where you were storing the rock you weren't using in the 30? Could there have been die-off on that?

kept the rock in a roughneck container with heater and PH

Even rising out that stuff you probably stirred up a bunch of gook which is fueling the algae. I would suck out as much as you can and do water changes until its gone.

alright, i cleaned the sand weeks ago and let it go in a tank with half the rock, doing changes which i thought would prevent this much of a problem.
