PVC Pipe

Not sure were to post this, so I'll try here. Does anyone use short pieces of PVC pipe stuck in the sand to support live rock and kind of keep it ever so slightly elevated above the sand for better circulation. Sounds like a good idea, is it?

Usually you want the live rock on the glass and then add sand. I have never seen anyone do live rock the way you are describing. With that said, I'm not saying it is a bad idea but you would have to make sure your live rock is very secure so it doesn't avalanche.

i have a couple big pieces of rock that i have placed on the bottom of my rock structure. they are unusually flat on the bottom. i drilled holes and inserted frag plugs so my pistol shrimp could tunnel under and not tip them over.
