PVC Sch40 vs Sch80?

Any reason why schedule 80 PVC should be used instead of schedule 40?

I'm about to start piecing my plumbing together and want to make sure I'm not making a huge mistake by using schedule 40.

I personally use schedule 40. Some people prefer the heavy duty feel of the schedule 80.

I don't think there is enough pressure to warrant the heavier duty PVC. I always used the thinner stuff.

I just looked at a piece I have laying here and the bursting pressure is 480PSI at 73 degrees. Unless your running a fire pump (which most of them max out at 220PSI anyway) your safe with SCH 40.

There is no real reason to use Sch 80. For the pressures pumps generate on a typical aquarium, Sch 40 is way more than enough.

I used sch40 as well.. I do know people who use sch80, but do so just because they like the way sch80 gray pvc looks :).
