Q-tip Sponges all over

After some Googling, I've identified (for certain) Q-tip Sponge that are showing up all over my tank.

They are hard to spot in the tank, but when you actually look for them you'll start seeing them hidden in the shadows. In fact I just removed one that was tucked in between some zoas.

Over the past couple weeks I've noticed a lot of them showing up in the sump tank.

I've read that there's nothing inherently bad about these, but the fact that they seem to be really multiplying now makes me wonder if it's a sign of something or if I should be concerned at all. (?)

They come and go. They actually help keep the water good because they filter out smaller particles before they can turn to nitrates.

So the fact that there are a bunch of them in the sump is actually a GOOD thing. Cool. I dig it. I was expecting A less positive response. ;)

i had a bunch on my pumps and inside my skimmer, i took them off (washed both pumps and skimmer) because i thought it looked like an eye sore lol
