Recuperating RBTA, and hosted!

So... a couple months ago I had gotten my fourth RBTA (1-3 had died for one reason or another). After a couple weeks I was afraid this one was going to go the way of it's predecessors.

I'm happy to say, that after two-ish months, it's tentacles are growing back and it's looking great! I can't completley say what caused it to make such a good come-back, but I know for a fact part of it was that my LED's were too strong. I had dropped them back from 75% down to 50%. They're now at 60%-65% during the peak 4 hours. The lights are an inch or so higher then they were when I had them at 55% too.

Anyway, I've been taking photos of it's recuperation...

Day 1: This is when I flipped the rock it was hiding under for two weeks, eating it's tentacles.

Day 3: It's taking food, but still doesn't look good...

Day 5: It's looking a little more stable, still taking little bits of food

Day 8-ish: Slowly looking better. I started feeding it larger pieces of squid to get it more nutrients

Looks amazing! Great job! I've always heard smaller bits of food are better than large bits because they expend so much energy digesting larger pieces. I'd stick to smaller bits. Again, great job!

I agree. I only fed it larger chunks about once a week there for a window of time. As of late, I've been spot feeding it Fauna Marin pellets, and it grabs up any mysis that float by it when I feed the fish.

Fantastic!! Great job bringing it back! Even though it is better to feed smaller more often rather than bigger like chichi said who can argue with your success here. I'm proud for you!

Awesome! I just got one (two now!) myself and loving it! So is my Anemone shrimp Mae West.

I was actually wondering what I could feed mine. Would table shrimp chopped very small work? Or pellets perhaps? Or just Mysis?

I wouldn't purposely feed them regular pellets. I don't think they're formulated to be digested by corals. I do however feed mine Fauna Marin pellets, which are made for LPS (and anemones I assume).

Your easiest bet is mysis I think. Mine does fine catching what ever mysis it can when I feed the fish. Once a week I spot feed it those LPS pellets or a bunch of mysis. It's been doing really good for several weeks like that.
