Red Sand

Hello everyone!
i was thinking of starting a mini tank (5 gallonish for corals and maybe my blenny) and was wondering if i could use red sand? I dont mean the dyed red stuff, but more like PEI. I was thinking it could be very beautiful, but im scared the iron in it may harm fish.

The iron will cause problems for any corals, also a 5 gal waaaaaaay too small for a blenny
