FOODS AND FEEDING - Stony coral polyps, soft corals, sea anemones, hydroids, sponges, tunicates, polychaete worms, sea urchin tube feet, opisthobranchs, filamentous algae.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - No

CAPTIVE CARE - This is an aggressive fish once acclimated and will defend its feeding territory, can be kept with moderately aggressive fish once acclimated, do not keep with other butterflyfish, fish with similar coloration, or food competitors unless the tank is sufficiently large. Keep only one or a proven pair, make sure the specimen is feeding prior to purchase, provide plenty of swimming room, a growth of filamentous algae is a plus for acclimation period. 72-82 F (22-28 C) Feed min. 3 times a day.
