return holes

so im thinking of getting 3/4inch return kits from glass holes just wondering were to cut the hoes i know thay cant be to close to the edge but how do i know were is safe, it well be a 1 1/2 inch hole...

so can sombody tell me what the rule is for drilling glass holes for my pluming the holes are suppose to be how far from the edge of the glass? this is for a 1 1/2 bulkead and 3/4of an inch bulkheads..
