Just added a few Ricordea mushrooms to my tank (75G, 2 year old mixed reef).
All water parameters are perfect.
They got really slimy as I handled them (used the bridal veil method to hold them on pcs of rubble). Put them in a shallow plastic dish (tupperware without lid) with holes drilled in sides for flow.
Have been in the tank for a day, and now there is a alot of debris at the bottom of the dish. It's very light green in color, and very fine. Looks like very fine sawdust. What is it? Is it a byproduct of the slim after coagulating in the water or something?
Is it bad for the tank?
