RO or RO/DI water?

I'm planning to purchase a filtration system. Would like to get something I can use for drinking water as well as aquarium fills. I've been told it's not good to drink DI water. So can I get by with using RO water in my tank? Or would it be much better to purchase a DI unit?

Hahaha, but its better for your tank if you get a DI unit with it, i know that for sure! :D

You could easily put a T fitting before the DI cartridge to attach to a drinking source and then also have it run through the DI for the fishes. I know you do not want to drink DI water as it will leach stuff from you back into the water, causing more harm than good!

Most DI systems come with a bypass. I know my 100 gpd unit from Buckeye field supply has a valve that let's you bypass the DI filter and get RO water only. Most good units should have this ability.
