    Agreed K. However I think interest has to be built so that action will then be taken.

    About 10 years ago I read a similar article. Someone did a test where they kind of added a bunch of vitamins to the ocean off the coast of Brazil. This increased the amount of plankton and it made a measurable difference in the atmosphere. I feel that the ocean is going to save us.... if we don't kill it first!

    Anything that is alive sequesters carbon. That's why deforestation is so bad -- all those trees are filled with carbon, and when they are burned or destroyed, all that carbon gets re-released back into the atmosphere. The ocean has great potential to be a carbon sink, and it would be relatively cheap to use as one.

    However, that is only treating the symptoms of the problem. Our primary concern should still be to reduce carbon emissions at their sources -- not put a bandaid on the problem by finding more places to stash all the carbon we're emitting.

    If only someone could come up with a way to make power for a few cents a mega watt.
    Oh thats right we have that Nuclear power but we don't use it.
