Saw this Sump Baffle Idea

Looks interesting, and a heck of a lot easier than trying to silicone the baffels in place.

I tried this idea finally and it didn't work very well.

My weather strip material was the right material for water but it was not the same shape as the one shown here so maybe that didn't help.

Either the baffle was loose or impossible to slide into place and I went with 17" and 17 1/4" so one was to small and the other too big. I mean 1/4 made a huge difference.

Just for shits and giggles, I'd cut 1/8th off the larger one and try it again.

I bet if I used the exact stuff he used for stripping it may be better off. I am sure it works I just am tired of spending $18 for a sheet of acrylic and having to deal with the grumpy Lowes workers haha.

The last guy was a douce with no personality or customer relation skills.

as you can see in that weather striping idea its a rectangle shaped striping was the type you used circular or rounded?

Yeah I think so but either way I found an easier more reliable way although I cannot move it without cutting the silicone. See the link in my previous post.

I built my bubble trap outside the sump as one unit. I still haven't posted all the finished pix but man it is a dream compared to the normal type and much stronger as well.
