Say Bye to One Month Cycles!

Reefing newb
Ph. D in Microbiology, Dr. Tim Hovanec, has put a product that has been proven to completely cycle your new tank in days instead of weeks. So, say goodbye to putting in raw shrimp and watching an empty tank for a month! His nitrifying bacteria has proven to completely establish itself in a tank and have you ready for saltwater action in no time!

1. Pour a bottle of his All in One Nitrifying bacteria in your tank!
2. Put a fish in the tank to provide wastes to feed the bacteria!
3. Watch for any spikes in ammonia and nitrites, if any at all!
4. Start your reefing crusade!

Watch it here and all its glory! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPxExG-FbvI"]Mr. SaltwaterTank puts it to the test![/ame]

Want to set up that tank thats been sitting in your garage all year collecting dust?! Here's your chance! (I'm accepting donations of 125 gallon tanks)

Can you say "AWWWWWWW YEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH!" :bounce:

hmmm . . .. im not sure about this, it makes alarm bells go off. I think i will wait for more studies on this before i say this a good product or not.

Sorry, its my naturally suspicious nature of shortcuts, so few of them actually work.

My friend used Dr. Tims products and was very pleased with them. I like doing stuff the old school so ill wait patiently for my cycle to complete

It seems legit to me. Which is really cool. He's obviously got the credentials, and it's not a chemical. (which is nice)..

It seems he's just figured out a way to harvest and bottle the necessary bacteria. I'd like to see it in action.

For some reason my senses are saying they will find something devastating about this soon, seems legit, but there is always something overlooked!!

Did you watch the video? This is the same guy who cares for the Georgia Aquarium, the London Aquarium and many other public aquariums. He's not some hack.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no believer in magic in a bottle either...But then they came out with Viagra, and my opinion changed...:D No just kidding.

But think about it this way, if he's responsible for setting up these systems...Think about the mass carnage that would happen if he was wrong. You'd have dolphins and sharks dead all over the place..

How long do you think he'd be in business? John Q Public does not enjoy seeing dead dolphins on the news. He's a microbioligist that takes care of saltwater tanks. He's simply figured out how to grow the necessary bacteria in his facility, and ship them. that's all.

I totally agree with you. I went to London and the London aquarium over this winter break and it is truly a sight to see! I can't remember the last time I've seen so many purple tangs in one system! It seems that he's isolated the correct sources nitrifying bacteria that are present in our system, as opposed to just any nitrifying bacteria in nature.

This hobby never ceases to amaze me.

i enjoy waiting for my cycle to complete... i like testing my water constantly and it gives me an excuse to do it... call me a chem nerd but i love it!

Anyone have any thoughts on dry rock with live rock and doing this? I am willing to be the site guinea pig if the dry and live wont affect the outcome.

Motorcyclereefer, Thank you for that, but that wasnt what I meant. I mean, does anyone think that the bacteria from the live rock will conflict with this cycle method? Should I just add the live rock after, or toss in all the dry and live rock at once?

I think a lot of the ones in the market are simply the wrong types of bacteria or not concentrated. I've used stress zyme and it looked nothing at all like the stuff he poured in. The product poured in the video looked very concentrated.
