Seahorses in the news

Oh, I saw that this morning. The most upsetting thing is that they just let the guy go. Egypt is a CITES member, they should have, at the very least, fined him. Otherwise it does nothing, the guy is out some money but otherwise, why not try again? Who knows how many times he's gotten away with it already?

Why? so idiots can add them to their potpourri? Buttheads.

'Thirty-two countries are involved in fishing some 20,000,000 seahorses each year; yet production already is failing to meet a worldwide demand that had reached 500 tons annually by the beginning of the 21st century, according to online conservationists reports.'
