This stuff was literally covering a rock - I peeled most of it off - and was wondering what it might be? It has the consistency (and smell) of kelp.

interesting. could be worth keeping, but I would toss it. If you have a fuge, drop it in there. I hate nuisance algae.

Kelp,seaweed....it's all the same and that's algae.Now go make some sushi rolls.
