IME they need a very mature and stable tank. At least a year old. They need lights with lots of intensity. LA says they are difficult.

From what I've seen with Sebaes at the store,They'd probably do better if the tank was at least a year and half old.
Sebaes don't handle any kind of swings in the water quality.

I think Capt is the only one who has kept one long term.Probably one of the hardest to keep.The last time I tried,it just dwindled away over a period of months.

A white sebae is a bleached sebae. Mine is sort of a brownish-greenish color.

I agree that you dont want a white one. One that is healthty is slightly brown or tan.
