Serpent sea star

Reefing newb
Hey I need to see what is going on. I have a red serpent sea star that the end of his arm is starting to turn white. Has anyone ever see this. When I get him to come out I will try and get a picture.

This may be the worst advice, but what I would do is cut it off about 1/2 inch past the dying part. If it is a disease of some kind then it might just stop it from continuing. It's leg will grow back.

What are your waters parameters?
That sounds like either something out of whack or to quick of an acclimation.

Did you expose the star to air when putting it in the tank? I've heard that could be bad for them. How long have you had it in there?

No I did not expose the sea star to the air when moving. I acclimatedover about 4 hours. He still moves around good like there is nothing wrong. It seems that he is regaining some of the color slowly. Will keep updated.
