serpent star?

I have a serpent star and have had him for 6 months, the tips of his arms are turing white is this normal?

He is eating and getting around fine.

IF your salinity fluctuates this could cause the tips to go white from what I read. Also may die.

They get pretty big for a 29g tank. My last one went rogue, now im left with a 8 micro serpents. I would get him a new home imho.
