silicone to plastic

My first acrylic tank project has a couple tiny leaks along one seam.
I know you cant use silicone to plastic for strength..but wouldny it work to just run some down the leaky seams?
Ive had pretty good luck with silicone dividers to glass tanks...as long as its not for building strength. It seems to adhere pretty well

what you could try doing is disolve some acrylic in acetone in a glass sealable jar. The acetone will disolve the arylic and make a gooey sort of paste. Use a small paint brush to build up the area that leaks. It wont look very attractive but it might do the trick.

Metyl ethyl ketone is the thin runny acrylic solvent. Weldon is a viscous or thick solvent which fills gaps that a regular solvent can't fill. It is essentially a solvent with some acrylic plastic dissolved in it already. If the solvent cannot contact both sides of a joint it cannot solvent weld it together, hence the filler or expander.
