It finally snowed in Denver to my disappointment, but i did enjoy taking pictures of it with my new camera!

How do you get the lighting right in those? When I take snow pictures they are either too bright or the snow is gray. Those are great.

I used their "snow/beach" setting, which i think is a large apature (?) setting and a fast shutter speed. This setting also includes white balance and exposure settings.

Also for the fire hydrant, i used the vivid color setting.

And then i edited them a little bit, just using the basics in iphoto.
