Reefing newb
My tank right now is at 1.026 were should it be? I have 2 LFS one is telling me its high and that I need to lower it, while the other one is telling me that he keeps his a little higher and that I need to raise it up a little.

IMO.. and what I have seen you are right in the area you would want it to be in.. somewhere between .024 and .026.. :D

That's the most common salinity for reef tanks.
But I've been trying to keep mine more around 1.023 - 1.024 as measured with my refractometer.
I had heard that the higher salinity is harder on the fish and their immune systems. And since I dose for calc, alk and mag anyway, I don't need to rely on the higher salinity for my corals. So i keep it a little lower but still well within the range of natural sea water.

That's pretty close to natural seawater.
