RANGE - East Africa, Hawaiian Islands, Marquesas, Tuamotu Islands, Japan, Lord Howe Island

FOODS AND FEEDING - Filamentous algae, anemones, soft and hard coral polyps, polychaete worm, peanut worm, sponge, fish eggs, sea urchin tube feet, crustacean.

REEF COMPATIBILITY - Not suited for a reef tank

CAPTIVE CARE - Keep singly or one proven pair, is somewhat aggressive, feed a varied diet of live, frozen, flake marine fare for omnivores. Provide plenty of foraging algae, and adequate swimming room with hiding places. Will acclimate to captivity and should be the last fish introduced. Not a fussy feeder. 72-82 F (22-28 C).
