Spider Webs On Live Rock?

I noticed these about 5 months ago. They are really hard to see until I do a water change and stir things up a bit. It seems like they attract the particulate and really stand out.

Those are vermetid snails. Really common hitch hikers. They use their "webs" to catch food.

If they are causing trouble (like keeping your corals from opening) then you can use a paper clip to poke them in their tube and kill them. Or super glue their openings over.

They are all over my xenia and I think thats where they came from. They don't appear to be causing trouble it just makes the tank look kinda nasty.

When I stir up my water vermetid snails put their webs all over the place. They have never caused me any problems. Their hard, calcareous tube shell might bother a coral or clam. If it does just break it off.
