Spiny Puffer

I just recently purchased a spiny puffer for my aquarium. Most of the places I check say to feed him hard-shelled shrimp, clams, crabs, snails, etc. What is meant by hard-shelled shrimp. So far I've been feeding him local, bait shrimp.....the frozen kind, after I've thawed it out. Anyone got ideas or feeding habits they have observed to work for them. I've read you have to keep their beek/teeth from over growing.

It means stuff with hard shells, like crabs or snails. That is how they keep their beak worn down

Just buy the cheapest snails your LFS has. My Petco always has at least one type of snail on sale for $.99. :)

So far I have been feeding him shrimp with the shells on and squid.. I have yet to try snails. I'll pick some up and give it a try.
