This is the same "guy" that was growing on my brain after it "shed". Yes it is dead, sad for me...
It is a follow up from this thread...
Coral reskinning after shedding? Part two with the mouth open.
Bottom right of picture, bright red "tree", sorry took the picture with my MacBook..
So what do I have?

It looks like a type of red macro-algae.Maybe kelp of some kind.

That maybe? That site has a bunch of different macro on there so you might be able to find out which one it is. Reefcleaners.org also has lots of macros, that might also help you find what that is

Seems I found a picture of it, called nemastoma macroalgae.
Seems to look the same.
