Steve's 90 Gallon Reef

Encrusting Monti? A frag my wife picked out yesterday. Its Pink, yes I know. It looks pretty sweet though. Any pointers for this? Placement, lighting, etc.???

I caught my coral beauty nipping at my acans this weekend. It has been staying closed the last couple days and I was worried he was the reason... I caught him red handed a few times Saturday and Sunday. I will be sad to see him go as he is a beautiful fish with a great personality. He will be evicted this weekend...time to get the trap.... :frustrat:

I was able to catch the coral beauty Saturday and bring him to the LFS... Sad to see him go. On a more positive note, I am trading him for an ultra mini maxi anemone, and my acans are looking better than ever now that they are not being attacked.

I am going to hold off on getting any more fish for awhile as I had an ich outbreak a few weeks ago and lost my kole tang. All the other fish have pulled through and are back to normal. I want to make sure all of the fish are at 100% health before adding any more fish. Still not positive what caused the outbreak as I never had any parameter fluctuations and all of the fish were getting along. The outbreak happened about 4 weeks after adding the tangs. My guess is one of them had ich but wasn't showing the symptoms yet? All of the fish were active and eating...but for whatever reason the kole did not pull through.

Frustrating...but moving on.

Its been a long while, so I thought it was time for an update. I have been just maintaining things for the last couple months as life got pretty hectic. Here are some pics of some recent updates as well as some growth. A Boxer puppy named "Rocky" who is 12 weeks old now, a female solar fairy wrasse, ricordia, and a mini maxi anemone are the new additions. Everything is doing very well.

Cute puppy, and cute kids! Gota love having kids when you own a saltwater tank. The faces they make when they see something cool in the tank

Newest addition! I am finally confident that the pod population is large enough.and to be on the safe side I added some additional pods. I added him last Thursday and he seems to be doing well so far....I am trying to train him to eat frozen brine/mysis and pellets as well. Either way he should have plenty of pods to keep him fat and happy.
