Yes. A lot of people will have a large new trash can for there salt and fresh water use. I have heard toss it after a few months,

Thanks. I put a skimmer on my sons biocube hqi and it's working awesome but it needs water in about a week. Some evap and some just skimmed out. Don't feel like making water all the time

You should replace evaporated water with fresh RO/DI water - NOT saltwater
If you replace evaporation with saltwater, you will slowly raise the salinity to dangerous levels

Yes the evaporated water is replaced with ro water. I'm talking about the water that gets taken out from the skimmer cup.

most ppl store it in trash cans or rubbermaid totes. they just put a powerhead and a heater in. Have it run 7 or 8 hours a day and you should be good.

It doesn't matter if the water is taken out by the skimmer cup or evaporation, it should be replaced with RO/DI water
