Storing water

Well this will be the first winter that I have had my RO/DI filter and I will be getting me a garbage can to store some water in over the winter. What I need to know is do I need to put things in it like a powerhead for movement? Any rock? Heater?

Just keep it moving with a powerhead. Once a month or two I would totally empty the tub out and clean it to prevent anything icky from growing in there

+1 fish. I just keep a powerhead going to prevent stagnation.
