Sump, Pump?

I want to make a sump out of a 29 gallon tank, my question is what size pump would I need and how do I go about doing this. Can't drill any holes in either tank. It's for my 55 gal display tank. I have a Rena filter on it and just want it removed because it is the reason we are having alot of heat issues in the tank. Thought it was the lights but I was wrong.Any help will be great.

Your pump would have to match the capacity of the overflow you use.
If you use a 800 gph overflow, a Mag 7 would probably be a fine size pump.
