Tank Brace

I had been reading another thread reacently where the subject of the brace at the top of a tank was brought up. What soot out to me about this thread was all the talk of not to break it, because it will ensure that the tank doesn't begin to bow. This has me concerned because the brace in my 46 gallon bowfront has been out for at least a year and a half. So my question is, should i be worried!? Should I try to fix it? Or am I just being paranoid?? ..... Help....:frustrat:

Was your bowfront a regular rectangle tank before the brace was removed?

Seriously though, i wonder how much the brace helps in a smaller tank like that and in a tank that already has bowed glass.... hmmm...

or use it as a sump as-is. It's strong enough for that since sumps are usually only filled about half way.

I personally have a 46g bow and I would NOT trust that, I would look into some sort of fix on it.

I had a 37 regular tank with the brace broke, after being yelled at by my LFSG and I fixed it I had never noticed how much of a bow it had!
