Tank size for clowns (hate to ask)

I hate to ask, but I've been reading after an answer for days and have found quite a variety of sentiment.
I'm setting up my first reef tank and my little girl really wants a clownfish in there. The tank's a DIY 20L AIO, the display is 24" x 12" x 12". What say we all? Thanks.

Occelaris and Perculas will be fine in a 10g tank; the other types of clowns (maroons, tomatos, skunks, clarkii, saddleback, etc) need a 30g tank. You should be fine with an occelaris/perc for your tank!

EDIT: Interesting, looks like Live Aquaria has upgraded their requirements to 20g, though still lists them in the nano tank fish section. I still think they will be fine in your tank, which has larger dimensions than a standard 10g.

Excellent. Should I stick with just one or will a pair fly? I don't want anybody to be crowded or otherwise uncomfortable.

20L I'm assuming is a 20 Long, not 20 liters

Suits me! :) I'd be fine with just one fish in the tank, really. Which would be better for the fish - space and water quality by his lonesome or a bit less with companionship?

a 24'' x 12'' x 12'' tank is a 15 gallon tank
