**new kid here**

1) I have a Red Sea Marine Kit--having trouble reading the rather vague color differences.
yote suggested API kit--will check into that one.
Red Sea tests for : pH, Alk, Nitrates, Nitrites, ammonia.....

What other kits should I have to be testing for other things?

2) I do not have an RO filter at home.....the closest "good" LFS is about an hour away....
Is there another source of RO water that I do not know of? I worked in the local dialysis clinic briefly (ugh)....does anyone get RO water from something like that? Would they "sell" their RO water?

--just asking......

Those are the Basic Five you will need. Unless you have corals, you don't need to test for calcium.

You can got RO water from any Walmart or grocery store. You can also use distilled water -- it's the same quality. I think Walmart sells jugs of distilled for 80 cents a gallon or something. If you want to buy your own RODI unit, you can get a good one for around $150.
