test kits

I was wondering if it is possible to have a test kit that could be no good. I purchased the drop test kit when i first got my tank. my ph and ammonia would show change over time, but the nitrite and nitrate have never changed. I tried the test strips and it showed a slit amount of nitrate.

Also, what do you guys prefer, the strips or the drops.

yes test kits can be bad or go bad. i use only liquid kits. i also om]nly use salfert kits.

I've always heard that the strips are pretty much junk. I'm using a combination of API and Salifert test kits.

Run your tests. Then take a sample to your LFS and have them run the same tests.
