testing water and changing water

The last time I did a water change was at least 3 weeks ago because Ive been testing my water every 3 days & PH, is at 8.4, ammonia , nitrate, nitrite levels are all where they are supposed to be.

Liveaquaria has toldl me to do a watger change even though my tests are within appropriate peramiters. Do you all agree? I only have 5 small fish and 2 Inverts.

Water changes serve two purposes: To remove bad things from the water, and to replenish good things that your livestock use up from the water. When you swap out old water for new water, the new water contains a balance of elements from your salt mix. So yes, you should do water changes even if your tests look okay. As Yote says, "Do you wait til your car breaks down to change your oil?" No. Water changes help prevent problems. Don't wait until you see a problem to do one. By then it could be too late.
