well i got a new TV and im stoked about that.

but its in my room as well as my tank.

heres the problem...when my heater is on(via-aqua with the seperate controller) and the tv is on, i change channels and the heater flashes off then back on. and even when im on the same channel and its changes from commercial to commercial it flashes as well.
im curious why this is because i dont have a remote for the heater(obviously).

any ideas?

All I can think is that the TV draws enough power when it switches to temperaraly lower the voltage on that circuit.

Try plugging it into a different circuit. One that is on a different breaker than your fish tank.

thats a thought. but i think all the outlets in my room are one circuit.
hmm... only if they made like a capacitor you could plug inline to the tv. maybe that would help?

Well I'm no electrician!!! So I will just say that's really funny!

We have all our powertools in our front shed that's attached to the house, so when we use them we plug them into the outlet in the shed and it makes everything in the house dim/turn down while the power tools are on.

That worries me. I'm thinking the load is more (or much more) than the circuit is rated for. But it hasn't popped a fuse yet so it's a curious situation. That seems to warrant some professional advice.
